Burntwood U15s finished off their season by hosting Barkers Butts who tuned out to be the best opposition they have faced all year. The visitors passed the ball around in fine style to win 35-5 with 4 tries in the first half and 3 in the second.
Despite being outclassed, the home boys stuck to their task with great spirit. Their only reward was a second half try for Sam Preece who showed great perseverance to chase a kick down and ground it over the line.

Burntwood U13s enjoyed a successful last fortnight of the season. First they won both games they played on tour to the south west and then last Sunday they hosted Eastleigh Pirates and came out on top again.
First up on tour were Thornbury Broncos. Tries by Ryan Percox, Troy Coleman and skipper Rob Jones carried them to a 15-5 win. There were outstanding efforts by Luke Thompson and Aaron Dunet.
In their second match they played a mixed U13s and U14s side fielded by host club Burnham-on-Sea. They won 26-5 with tries again from Percox, Coleman (3) plus 3 conversions by Mathew Geldard-Williams.
Their final match of the season against their visitors from Hampshire was played at a ferocious pace with some big tackling by both sides. Percox opened the scoring then Coleman scored a brace of tries. Sandwiched inbetween was a converted try by Eastleigh to make the final score 15-7.
Superb tackling by Dunet and co-centre Sam Jones kept the Pirates at bay.
The coaching staff send their thanks to parents and sponsors who have supported the team so well this season.

Several weeks without a game produced a “rusty” performance by
Burntwood U12s away to Willenhall and the hosts cashed in 33-0.
They were frequently under pressure from their bigger opponents in both tight and loose play but their heads never dropped and there were several good performances.
Mathew Ford at No.8 had a solid game in attack and defence, Ross McWalter looked at home on the left wing, Daniel Hewitt didn’t shirk in the tackle against bigger opponents and Brad Welsby returned to action after prolonged absence through injury – only to suffer a crack on the nose!
The U12s will hope to end their season on a high when they take part in the Wednesbury President’s Day this weekend.
