The first run-out of 2009 for the U13's was played at the King Edward VI school against a strong Lichfield team.

In a spirited performance Burntwood held out well for the first 10 - 12 minutes, keeping the scores to zero. The experience of the Lichfield side then began to tell and a steady flow of scores against our U13's began. Effort from the Burntwood players could not be faulted and all will have learnt from the experience. Of the Burntwood players, pick of the day must be Ross McWalter whose boundless energy meant he appeared to be everywhere. Other good performances again came from Harry Davison, Oliver Tooth and Mathew Ford, but all of the squad played hard to the end. Unfortunately the 53 - 0 scoreline doesn't show the effort put into this match
